Match Report
A GOAL in the 89th minutes denied the Seagulls victory as the local ‘derby’ at Llandudno ended in a 1-1 draw.
Craig Linfield had given Colwyn Bay a 20th minute lead, and although some fine saves by Rhys Williams either side of half-time kept the lead intact, Llandudno substitute Lee Stokes came off the bench to snatch the late equaliser.
Colwyn Bay created plenty of chances to put the game to bed in the first half with Rhys Nash blasting over the bar from the third of three early corners before Craig Lindfield scored from Gwion Dafydd’s header across goal.
Sam Hart headed a big chance over the bar from a brilliant cross by Josh Carey, who then fired another opportunity over the bar from the edge of the area.
Llandudno were denied an equaliser when Rhys Williams diverted one shot round the post and made a good close range save right on half-time.
Llandudno came out firing in the second half and Rhys Williams made two more good saves to keep Bay in front.
The Seagulls were hanging on a bit at the end, but were within minutes of taking all three points when Stokes grabbed the home side’s point saver right at the death.
