COLWYN BAY bounced back from Friday’s heavy defeat at TNS to take the three points in a 2-0 ‘derby’ victory over Llandudno in front of a superb Bank Holiday Monday crowd of 2,037.
Dan Roberts and Adam Davies, with his fourth goal of the season, gave the Seagulls the win, while Ethan Roberts was a constant threat downthe left to earn the Sgorio Man of the Match award.
It was also a third clean sheet in the three home games played by the Bay this season.
Colwyn Bay were a lot more positive from the start than on Friday and had an early penalty appeal turned down when Adam Davies looked to be pulled down in the box and Sol Forde skied a good shooting chance over the bar from a free kick.
The opening goal came on 39 minutes when Dan Roberts, in a crowded goalmouth, looked to get a final touch on Sam Hart’s shot from the edge of the area following a corner.
Jordan Davies headed another chance wide and although Mark Halstead made a great save in a one-on-one situation, the offside flag went up anyway.
n the second half Adam Davies put another chance wide and Louis Robles fired a free kick over the bar.
But Adam Davies made no mistake on 70 minutes with a great strike into the top corner of the net from Callum Bratley’s lay-off after a great run down the right by Declan Poole.
Mark Halstead made a save low down to his left from Kieran Smith late on to make sure Bay kept that third clean sheet.
