Steve Evans

Manager – Wrexham-born Steve was a trainee at Crewe Alexandra and West Bromwich Albion before joining TNS in 1999 and in two spells with the club won the Welsh Premier league title seven times. He spent three seasons with Wrexham, during which he was capped seven times by Wales’ senior side having also represented the semi-professional team. Steve was assistant manager at New Saints between 2017 and 2020 and made a playing comeback with Caernarfon Town for the 2021/22 season before his appointment as Bay manager in January 2022.

TomMY HOLMES

Assistant Manager – Tommy began his playing career at Tranmere Rovers before joining TNS in 2000, where he played over 400 games during a successful 11 years. He won the Welsh Premier League on four occasions and formed a defensive partnership with Steve Evans. He later played for Prestatyn Town, Airbus UK and Buckley Town. He was part of the management team at Brymbo and Conwy Borough and was assistant manager to Phil Hudson at Ruthin Town before joining the Bay in the summer of 2022.

MATT SAMPSON

First Team Coach – As Head of Football in The Community, co-founded the Academy originally, and helped the club win Community Club of The Year in 2014. Matt was part of the back room staff when Colwyn Bay went six games and six wins to avoid relegation from the Conference North. Matt then had 7 years working for a Premier League Football Club which took him overseas to China. Since then Matt has worked within Connah’s Quay senior phase being part of the management team which saw the 1st / 19s and 18s all win their respective leagues. Matt returned to Colwyn Bay in September 2020 as Academy Director and Head of Coaching which now coincides with the First Team Coaching role.
