COLWYN BAY will hope to maintain Steve Evans’ unbeaten start as manager and end Penrhyncoch’s own four-match unbeaten run when the Ceredigion side visit the 4 Crosses Arena on Saturday(February 5).
The Roosers’ 1-0 success at Prestatyn last weekend was their third win in a row, following victories over Buckley Town and Llangefni (three games in which they have conceded just one goal), and a 2-2 draw away to Conwy Borough.
Colwyn Bay won 4-0 away to Penrhyncoch in August, but will need to step up their game from last weekend’s disappointing 0-0 draw with Llangefni if they are to complete a second league double.
Last Saturday was only the fourth time the Bay have failed to score in 25 league and cup home games since returning to Welsh football in 2019, and two goals on Saturday will see them reach 50 home goals during that time.
Manager Steve Evans will have to assess the fitness of two or three players this week, including skipper Tom McCready who was a late withdrawal from the Llangefni game after suffering an injury in the warm-up, before finalising his squad. That, however, could include new midfield signing Ryan Edwards and goalkeeper Ryan Neild.
The clubhouse bar and refreshments will be available at the ground from 12:30pm.
