MANAGER Steve Evans says he firmly believes Colwyn Bay can reach the final of the JD Welsh Cup, despite being drawn against the holders and runaway Cymru Premier leaders The New Saints in the semi-finals, to be played on the weekend of 18-20 March.

The tie will be at a neutral venue, to be decided.

Monday’s draw pits the manager up against the club with whom he won the Welsh Cup three times – two as a player and one as coach.

“We’ll be looking forward to the game,” he commented.

“We’ll do our homework on them and we’ll be confident of progressing into the final.

“We’ve beaten the Welsh champions away from home in the last round so we’ll take massive confidence from that into the semi-final.”
