COLWYN BAY secured their first pre-season victory with a 3-1 success against Vauxhall Motors in another good workout at the Blue Turtle Arena.
Matty Hill hit the post after good work by Dan Atkins before the Bay took the lead on 24 minutes with a Sol Forde header from a left wing free kick into the area,
Josh Carey was close to adding a second with a shot just past the post, but Rhys Williams had to make a couple of good saves, turning a close range header over the bar and keeping out a Nick Rushton effort to keep the Seagulls in front at half-time.
In the second half Bay’s trialist forward cut inside and saw a deflected shot hit the bar and Sam Hart shaved the post with a shot from Ethan Roberts’ lay-off before two goals in a minute put Bay 3-0 up.
Louis Robles, one of numerous second half substitutes, volleyed home his first goal for the club from a right wing cross and then, with just the keeper to beat, he unselfishly squared the ball for the trialist to score Bay’s third.
Vauxhall Motors got a late consolation goal when they were awarded a penalty and Nick Rushton scored from the spot in the closing three minutes.
