LUKE MURPHY made a match-clinching penalty save as Colwyn Bay won away to Pontypridd United to reach the quarter-finals of the FAW Youth Cup.
After the teams finished level at 1-1, the young Seagulls emerged victorious from the penalty shoot-out decider 5-4 to book their place in the last eight draw.
Following a goalless first half, Pontypridd took the lead through Jack Jones on 53 minutes, but Ben Hoban equalised for the Bay on 73 minutes from a corner to take the tie to penalties.
With Bay scoring all their five spot kicks, Luke Murphy then saved Pontypridd’s fifth to secure a great win in South Wales..
Max McGoona, Efan Bowden-Williams, Luca Moran, Tom Attewell and Joe Parker were the five successful Bay penalty takers.
