Colwyn Bay FC Foundation is delighted to announce that it has received funding through the Community Grants Programme, supported by Postcode Lottery players and delivered in partnership with Sported.

The funding will help the Foundation continue its mission of creating opportunities, improving wellbeing and using the power of football and sport to make a positive difference in communities across North Wales.

Since launching in January, Colwyn Bay FC Foundation has already engaged more than 9,500 participants through a growing range of community, education, health and wellbeing initiatives, establishing itself as an important part of the local community.

Working with schools, community organisations and local partners, the Foundation delivers programmes designed to break down barriers to participation, support personal development and provide opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Its activities include Primary Seagulls, which combines education and physical activity in local schools; Street Seagulls, which provides safe and positive opportunities for young people through football and youth engagement; and the 90 Minute Club, which supports the physical and mental wellbeing of older adults.

The support from the Community Grants Programme represents another important step in the Foundation’s development, helping strengthen its community provision and ensuring more local people can benefit from accessible, inclusive and meaningful opportunities.

Josh Antoniou, speaking on behalf of Colwyn Bay FC Foundation, said:

“We’re incredibly grateful to Sported and Postcode Lottery players for supporting the work we’re doing across our communities.

“Our Foundation is built around the belief that a football club can be so much more than what happens on the pitch.

“We want to use the reach and identity of Colwyn Bay F.C to create genuine opportunities for people, whether that’s supporting young people in education, providing safe spaces to play or helping older generations stay active and connected.

“Having already engaged more than 9,500 people since launching, we’re proud of what we’ve achieved, but we’re even more excited about what comes next.

“Support like this allows us to continue building a Foundation that makes a lasting difference across North Wales.”
