MY FIRST few months as Chairman of this great club have certainly been busy. But I’d like to thank everyone for their support and I will endeavour to help the club become a real community force.
There are so many people to thank for helping not only on match days but in the day to day activities of the club – from sponsors, club officials, volunteers and friends of the club as well as our supporters.
We are a team on and on off the field.
The continued backing of our main club sponsors 4 Crosses Construction is much valued. My grateful thanks to David and Brian for their longstanding support and contribution. Thanks also to Go2People who are not only first team sponsors but also our various age group sides too – thank you to Chris and the team.
I’m also grateful for the work of our digital partners Yellow Fly Design who are doing such fine work in promoting the club and have produced our new club website. Thanks Glynne.
On the pitch the season has been inconsistent and we are all frustrated with the league position. The hard work continues though and hopefully two wins in our last two games gives the team a platform to kick on ahead of the second half of the season.
The JD Welsh Cup win over Cardiff Met was a very memorable day for everyone associated with the club. The players put in a fantastic shift against what was a very good side.
Winning our first ever live game on TV was also special and it was a great advert for our club in front of a wider audience – in Wales and beyond!
We’ve been handed a tough quarter final draw against Connah’s Quay Nomads but I’m sure there will be a large contingent of Bay fans making their way over to Deeside for that game.
That’s in the in the New Year – there will be plenty to keep us all occupied, on and off the pitch, over the coming months.
As for the future, the club’s main target on the pitch is to reach the Cymru Premier but there is so much more we want to achieve off the field too.
The Academy and Junior section continues to grow and Improvements to the facilities at the 4 Crosses, with the help and support of the re- established Supporters Club, are also planned.
This is a club that is proud to be at the heart of the community – and the Colwyn Bay FC Foundation has been established to build better lives through sport.
Thank you for you continued support and Come on the Bay!
