COLWYN BAY produced their own November 5th fireworks by staging a big second half comeback from 0-2 down to win 3-2 at Llanidloes and preserve their unbeaten record.
Tom Creamer got the late winner for his fourth goal in the last seven games, after goals by Lewis Sirrell and Matty Hill had hauled the Seagulls level.
After Cai Owen had missed a big chance from six yards following great work by Dylan Allshorn, Llanidloes had the better of the first half with Bay keeper Ryan Woods having to tip an effort from Ashley Harries over the bar and the home side’s Edward Clarke missing a gilt-edged opening at the near post.
But the Daffs took the lead on 33 minutes when they were awarded a penalty as Clarke went down as he tried to go round Ryan Woods in a one-on-one and Connor Bird scored from the spot.
Bird then added a second two minutes before the break, heading over Woods from a free kick to give LlanIdloes their two goal cushion at half-time.
The Seagulls were much better in the second half, with four substitutions making an impact, and a 30-yard thunderbolt shot from Lewis Sirrell got them back into the game at 2-1 on 57 minutes.
Cai Owen had a shot blocked on the line, before Matty Hill got on the end of an Alex Downes cross to equalise 10 minutes later.
The Bay then competed the comeback on 79 minutes when Jamie Cumming’s cross was swept into the bottom corner of the net by Tom Creamer for his sixth goal of the campaign.
Manager Steve Evans said: “Second half I thought we were phenomenal and that’s credit to the players. It was my fault the first half, not them – I got the tactics wrong.
“First 20 minutes we should have been two or three up anyway with the chances we created and we’ve conceded two sloppy goals.
“Second half we went out and tweaked a few things and went out and played like we normally played. We were fantastic and got what we deserved in the end.”
Lewis Sirrell was named Radio Aber Man of the Match.
