WE ARE pleased to confirm that Danny Holmes is our third summer signing.
Danny joins from Connah’s Quay Nomads, where he spent the last five years making over 140 appearances.
The 34-year-old defender won back to back Cymru Premier titles during his time at Deeside Stadium.
He also won the MG Nathaniel Cup in 2020 and 2022 as well as being part of the team to reach the Irn Bru Scottish Cup final in 2019 and featured in the club’s European campaigns.
Danny came through the ranks at Tranmere Rovers, where he would have two spells and has also played for The New Saints, Newport County, AFC Fylde, York City (where he won the FA Trophy) and Bangor City as well as loan spells at Southport and Fleetwood Town.
He joins his brother Tommy, Bay’s assistant manager, at the 4 Crosses Construction Arena and combine playing with a coaching role.
Manager Steve Evans said:
“Delighted to secure the signing of Danny. Danny will come on board as a player and also part of our coaching staff.
“To attract a player of Danny’s quality to the Bay is tremendous.
“He’s one of the best defenders the Welsh Premier has seen over recent years.
“He played a vital part in Connah’s Quay’s success and the experience he brings as a player will certainly help us as a group.
“He is looking to take that next step in his career into the coaching side whilst still playing and that was something we looked at and it works well for both Danny and Colwyn Bay.
“i’m really looking forward to working with him in that capacity also as he’ll bring his ideas and experiences which again will only benefit us as a group.
“Welcome to the Bay Danny 👍🕊”
