DYLAN ALLSHORN scored his first goal in a Bay shirt as the Seagulls drew their opening pre-season friendly 2-2 away to Rhyl 1879.
The winger, signed from Holywell Town, capitalised on a mistake by Rhyl keeper Joe Griffiths to score Bay’s second equaliser of the game.
Tom McCready was Bay’s other scorer, netting a 30-yard screamer to cancel out Rhyl’s opening goal, with all the game’s goals coming in the first half.
Manager Steve Evans commented afterwards: “It was a great first game to have for where we are at pre-season.
“The most important thing was to get minutes in the bank and come away without any injuries. We did both of them so I am pleased with that.”
Bay gave a number of players from the Under-19 side a run out, including three 16-year-olds.
Steve described the game against the newly promoted Ardal North West side as “a really good test.”
“We were alright in patches and I felt the young lads that came in did really well.”
Bay’s next game is on Tuesday (July 12th) away to Mick McGraa’s Vauxhall Motors, who have had three pre-season games so far, beating Widnes 5-2 and Ashton Town 3-2 before losing 3-2 at home to Marine.
