Match Report

GWION DAFYDD scored twice and Lewis Sirrell got his first goal of the season as the Seagulls stretched their unbeaten run to 18 games with a 3-0 Friday night home win against Ruthin Town.

Both sides gave everything in difficult rain-lashed conditions, but it was the Bay who continued their winning form.

The Bay started well with Ethan Roberts having an early shot cleared off the line and Ruthin keeper Dan Goldston had to make two good saves to deny Craig Linddfield, from six yards out, and Jamie Cumming from the edge of the area.

Tommy Creamer then had a shot deflected just wide before Gwion Dafydd opened the scoring on 34 minutes after great play by Cai Owen.

In the second half Sol Forde had a header from a corner saved by Goldston and Jamie Cumming shot just wide, before Gwion doubled the lead on 59 minutes.

Lovely build-up play through the middle set up the goal with Tommy Creamer providing the final pass for Gwion to finish coolly for his second goal of the game.

Lewis Sirrell than added a third goal following a goalmouth scramble from Jame Cumming’s free kick into the area.

Ruthin never gave up and Rhys Williams had to make a good save near the end to preserve Bay’s second successive clean sheet.
