Match Report
A FIRST half injury to goalkeeper Alfie Brooks added to the Seagulls woes as they lost 5-0 away to Haverfordwest County and dropped to bottom place in the JD Cymru Premier table.
Defender Sam Hart had to take over in goal with Bay already 0-2 down and although he did very well as stand-in keeper, he couldn’t prevent the home side adding a further three goals.
Bay, in fact, made a really bright start with home keeper Zac Jones saving from Tom McCready and Sam Turner, and Alex Downes heading a chance over the bar from Tom McCready’s cross.
But Haverforwest scored from their first real attack on 14 minutes and added a second four minutes later when Rio Dyer scored following a scramble in the area.
Alfie Brooks then had to go off injured after a collision with the home side’s Aiden MacNamara, who also had to go off, and the home side added their third just before half-time, despite shouts for offside and Sam Hart saving the first effort, while Bay’s only threat was a shot from Alex Downes which was narrowly wide.
Jamie Cumming had a shot from 25 yards saved early in the second half, but Haverfordwest made it 4-0 on 56 minutes with Martell completing his hat-trick.
Zac Jones made a great save from Alex Downes and Tom McCready had a close range header blocked on the line before Dan John added the home side’s fifth on 85 minutes
Keeper Jones then denied Bay a consolation goal with two more fine saves from Alex Downes Creamer.
