Recap
COLWYN BAY bowed out of the Welsh Blood Services League Cup with a 3-2 home defeat to title rivals Airbus UK in the Northern semi-finals.
Goals from Jamie Cumming and Craig Lindfield weren’t enough as Airbus won with two goals from Danny Warren and a third by James Davies.
Warren had an early effort well saved by Rhys Davies, but gave Airbus the lead on 15 minutes when he broke clear to score with Bay appealing in vain for offside.
Colwyn Bay, however, were level on 29 minutes when a lovely ball by Sol Forde to Craig Lindfield on the right saw Linny drive to the bye-line and pull the ball back for Jamie Cumming to fire home his 15th goal of the season.
Rhys Nash was then unlucky not to put Bay in front when his shot from the edge of the box was deflected onto the post.
Airbus then caught Bay cold in the opening three minutes of the second half for Warren Davies to score his second of the game and the visitors got a third on 74 minutes when a Bay attack broke down and the Wingmen swept upfield for James Davies to finish clinically.
Craig Lindfield fired a great shot into the top corner of the net to give the Seagulls hope on 82 minutes, but they couldn’t force an equaliser.
It was a case of third time lucky to Airbus after a defeat and a draw in the two league games against the Bay, who now have five league games left to try and beat Airbus to the JD Cymru League title.
