Match Report
THE Seagulls hit 10-man Ruthin Town for six with a Christmas cracker to go six points clear at the top of the JD Cymru North table.
Skipper Tom McCready opened the scoring from a rebound off the bar after six minutes, but Ruthin equalised through Sam Jones two minutes later and were unlucky not to take the lead when they hit the bar and Cameron Darling had to make a good save when the home side broke from a Bay corner.
The game turned, however, on 20 minutes when Ruthin’s Gwion Owen was sent off for handling the ball on the line from Kristian Platt’s goal-bound effort and McCready scored from the resulting penalty.
Alex Downes then added a third from a rebound after Matty Hill’s shot had been saved and right on half-time Stef Edwards pulled the ball back for Ryan Edwards to make it 4-1.
Cameron Darling had to make another good save early in the second half, but after a number of Bay changes McCready was denied a hat-trick by a good save from the home keeper before Jamie Cumming rounded the keeper to score Bay’s fifth goal after a great run down the right by Dylan Allshorn.
In the closing minutes McCready’s great cross was volleyed home by Alex Downes to complete the scoring.
