JAMES KIRBY has been voted Colwyn Bay’s Go2People Player of the Month for October.

He topped the poll run on the club’s Twitter account with 45.9 per cent of the votes, with his month capped by two goals in the 4-3 win over Holyhead last weekend, which also earned him a place in the JD Cymru North’s Team of the Week.

Tom McCready was second in the Colwyn Bay poll with 30.8 per cent of the votes, while Sam Jones polled 15 per cent and Sam Downey 8.3 per cent.

James, who has now scored four goals in eight games for the Bay, will be hoping to add to that when the Seagulls travel to second-bottom Llaanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant on Saturday (2pm kick off).

Craig Hogg’s side will be looking for another win against a Llanrhaeadr side who are still looking for their first league victory of the season, having had four draws and nine defeats (four of them at home) in their 13 games played so far.

They have, however, shown improved form of late and are looking to build on a 0-0 draw at Penrhyncoch in their last outing.

Bay’s last visit to the Recreation Field  was during the curtailed 2019/20 season when they won 1-0 on a difficult pitch thanks to a late goal from Alex Downes.

There will be a minute’s silence before the kick off ahead of Remembrance Day.
