CRAIG LINDFIELD scored a hat-trick as the Seagulls beat league leaders Airbus UK Broughton 6-3 in a thrilling top of the table clash under the Friday night lights.

Jay Owen, Lloyd Marsh-Hughes and Gwion Dafydd were the other Bay scorers in front of a crowd on 772 at the 4 Crosses Construction Arena as the Bay became the first side to take points off Airbus in the JD Cymru North this season.

They lost a two goal lead at one stage, but hit back superbly with three goals in the last 20 minutes to sweep Airbus away.

The visitors, in fact, made the better start, forcing Rhys Williams into a good early save and then taking the lead when a driving run from Jordan Evans set up Sam Baker to score with a shot across the keeper into the far corner of the net.

Colwyn Bay gradually got into the game and Airbus keeper Keighan Jones made good saves from Josh Carey (twice) and a Jay Owen free kick before Bay swung the game round with two goals in three minutes.

Craig Lindfield go the first from close range on 38 minutes and Jay Owen volleyed in a great finish from a corner to put the Bay 2-1 up at the interval.

Craig Lindfield headed in his second on 50 minutes to make it 3-1, only for Airbus to rally with two goals in eight minutes from Danny Warren and Jordan Evans, with a great strike from 25 yards, to level the game up at 3-3.

Airbus then hit the bar and were on top for a spell, but Craig Linfield got his hat-trick to edge Bay ahead again after the keeper had got a hand to Sol Forde’s shot on 70 minutes and two late goals from substitutes Lloyd Marsh-Hughes (87 Minutes) and Gwion Dafydd deep into added time completed the scoring.

Lloyd blocked an attempted clearance kick by the keeper and saw the ball rebound off him and roll into an empty net, before great play by Lloyd Marsh-Hughes, cutting in from the left, set up Gwion Dafydd’s goal.
