ALEX DOWNES (defender): Alex has returned for a third spell at the club having previously made 107 appearances and scored 22 goals for the club, winning the Registered Supporters Player of the Season in 2020 and 2024.
He made his Bay debut during our time in the Evo-Stik League, away to Trafford in October 2018, after initially coming on loan from Chester, prior to being signed in May 2019 after leaving Chester.
The 25-year-old spent a couple of seasons at Runcorn Linnets during the pandemic shut down in Wales but returned ahead of the 2022/23 season and helped win the JD Cymru North title.
He scored Bay’s first winner in the JD Cymru Premier, a header to seal a 1-0 victory at Penybont, but left the club following relegation in order to continue in the top flight.
Joining Bala Town he made his debut for Colin Caton’s side in the Europa Conference League and scored three goals in 10 league appearances for the club before a serious knee injury ruled him out for the season.
