We’re back to home action for the first time in October as we welcome Cardiff Met to Llanellian Road this Friday Night in a 7:45pm Kick Off.

After a Cup classic last Saturday afternoon away at Buckley Town, the Seagulls return to defend their perfect home record in the league against a team that has had a mixed season so far…

Last Time Out

The last home game against the South side was a 0-0 draw, Met escaping with a draw thanks to young Archers goalkeeper Samuel Seager who produced 8 saves in the game, denying Bay from every angle.

Mike Wilde will be wanting a performance more entertaining and in Bay’s favour as the 4-1 win away to Met at the Cyncoed Campus; the Seagulls first win of last season.

Colwyn Bay were in full flow in that fixture and finally showed the quality at their disposal at the 6th attempt, Louis Robles twice on the scoresheet that day as well as Jordan Davies, Lewis Sirrell scoring the fourth in added time.

Focus On Friday

As mentioned, it’s been a mixed season for Met so far who, with their obvious ties to the University, boast a young crop of players with some still finding their feet in the top tier of Welsh football.

A player who’s not adverse to the Cymru Premier despite his age is Jasper Payne; the 21-year-old has 7 goals so far this season in his second year with the Archers, having his first taste of the top tier aged 19 with Britton Ferry- he’ll be the one to look out for Friday Night.

As for Colwyn Bay it’s been more about squad involvement rather than relying on one man, Jack Kenny on the scoresheet again last weekend whilst Jordan Davies is back to his best, just to focus on two of the Seagulls attacking options.

We may soon see the anticipated return of George Hughes- the fan favourite midfielder is back playing currently with the reserves after suffering an injury during preseason. Another midfielder in Callum Bratley could return to the side after missing the Cup tie at Buckley, whilst Adams Davies could miss being included in the MatchDay squad.
