The Road to Europe continues for Colwyn Bay as we host Penybont in the Conference League Qualification Semi-Final this Saturday at 12:45pm.

The league phase is over as we now aim to create history and reach the qualification stages of a major European competition for the first time ever!

The tie was set up after the Seagulls finished 5th in the league at the end of Phase 2 and with Caernarfon already qualifying for Europe through their Welsh Cup success, it meant 5th would host 6th, Penybont, in the first Semi-Final for qualifying, with the second Semi-Final on Sunday being Barry (who finished 3rd) facing the highest positioned team in the relegation conference, Haverfordwest (who finished 7th).

Our last battle against Bont saw a 0-0 draw in Bridgend, however we have enjoyed two prior victories at home, which included a 3-1 statement victory back in February that allowed us to sustain a healthy place above them in the league. Penybont failed to register a win over any of the other 5 teams within the top 6 in Phase 2, yet the South side will still be up for it on Saturday knowing what is at stake.

This game is a one leg, straight knockout game that will determine who makes the final. Whilst it’ll be a hard-fought game on the pitch, the support needed off the pitch is just as important. You’ve been behind us all season but now we need you more than ever- Let’s cap off an already fantastic season with a European tour to look forward to!
