CAPTAIN Sam Hart reflected on a successful season and looked forward to the upcoming campaign in the JD Cymru Premier after committing to the Bay.
Sam, who was appointed captain after the retirement Tom McCready, reflected on the past 12 months and a triumphant league campaign which began with defeat.
“It was quite difficult to begin with because obviously we had no team, had no management and it was all up in the air a little bit,” Sam said.
“But as the year has gone on it’s been absolutely brilliant and the lads have been amazing with me.
“You get a brand new management team in with brand new ideas and a new set of players – it’s not going to happen overnight.
“Fortunately for us the penny dropped relatively early and the ideas and the way we wanted to play, we were able to take it on board quite quickly.
“It could have taken a lot longer and the season could have been a lot slower and we could have been out of sight.
“But luckily we managed to turn it around – 29 games undefeated at any level of football is an unbelievable achievement.
“The management team need to take a lot of credit for that and the players and staff – everyone at the football.
“It’s a great achievement but it’s in the past now and we need to look forward and this season is going to be a tough, tough division to stay in but we know what the challenge is.”
Sam has vast experience of playing in the JD Cymru Premier with a number of clubs and was part of Bay’s squad which had a season in the top flight in 2023/24.
“We’re going into it optimistic,” Sam said.
“We know what’s coming, we know it’s going to be difficult but we feel we’re going to be ready for it.
“We haven’t done all the work this year to go up and then just throw the towel in – we’re going to have a go and want to stay in the division and then want to kick on again.
“Let’s see where it takes us this year.”
