TWO of the Bay’s key players in last season’s JD Cymru North title winning side – Lewis Sirrell and Ryan Edwards – have recently left the club.

Manager Steve Evans said: “As a club we’d just like to thank Lewis and Ryan for their contribution towards our Colwyn Bay journey.

“They’ve been a massive part of our success and to work with them has been a pleasure.

“I wish them all the very best in their next steps in the future. Thank you for their contribution.”

Defender Lewis Sirrell was signed by Craig Hogg from Llandudno in July 2020 and made his debut in a Nathaniel MG Cup tie at Buckley Town in December that year prior to the 20/21 season being cancelled due to the pandemic.

He made 27 appearances the following season, scoring his first goal for the club in the 3-1 win away to Llangefni Town and was the Supporters Player of the Season.

He played in 32 of the 37 games last season and In all  made 63 appearances and scored eight goals.

Midfielder Ryan Edwards, who was originally signed by Alan Morgan in June 2017 but made no appearances due to injury, rejoined the Bay from Newtown in January 2022 following the appointment of Steve Evans as manager.

He made his debut in the 5-1 home win over Penrhyncoch and scoring his first goal for the club in the 2-0 Welsh Cup win over Connah’s Quay Nomads a fortnight later, which earned him the player of the round award

He made 37 appearances ,scoring five goals in all – his last one being in the 5-0 win over Airbus in the Nathaniel MG Cup tie in August.
