WILL McKINLEY, who has been a consistent perform for the Under-19s development squad and was on the bench for the first team game against Prestatyn Town, is among the Colwyn Bay FC Academy Players of the Month for January.
The full list of award winners is:
WILL McKINLEY (Under-19s): In games against Bala and Newtown, Will has consistently delivered high standards of performance both in and out of possession.
He scored at Newtown, taking his opportunity extremely well.
As a first year 19s player he performs above that, and the future is extremely bright for this creative midfielder, who was selected on the subs bench for the first team game against Prestatyn Town early in the month. Ste Giblin (Head Coach).
RYDER GOODARE (Under-16s): Ryder was outstanding in the game away to Airbus, playing out of position, and doing a great job and putting in a high performance for the team. Ryder also was excellent in the futsal tournament where he could show off his technical abilities and skill in 1v1 situations. Well done Ryder. Russ Flint (U16 head coach).
BEN WOODHOUSE (Under-15s): Ben has shown consistently throughout the Month of January. He has shown his ability to adapt to different positions and perform to a high standard regardless of it being 11-a-side or Futsal. Ben has a bright future as he shows maturity in his desire to learn and improve. Well done Ben. Kev Jones (coach).
JAC JONES (Under-14s): Jac has been great all season for us to be fair. Having suffered a little with a niggling knee injury last year he has come back with a bang.
Finally getting to play regularly in his preferred more central role he has had a huge impact.
His disciplined approach and positional awareness has allowed the side to play with a lot more freedom and this impact was particularly noticeable in his performances against Crewe and Newtown.
Jac’s improvement in his passing accuracy has led to continuous strong performances and to big personal development gains for him. This is a credit to his attitude and commitment in training which is always top draw.
Well done Jac. Keep up the hard work mate, it is clearly working for you. Lee Bubb (U14s head coach).
KAYDEN WILLIAMS (Under-13s): Challenged with playing a new role this year, Kayden has really adapted well and continues to go from strength to strength in this position. This is a testament to him with his attitude and dedication seen every week in training, and this has only helped him adapt and show his versatility. Kayden is a player with so many strong attributes, and not too many weaknesses to his game, and has the ability to affect the game in so many ways in and out of possession.
He really has shown his quality of late from his All round MOTM performance against Llandudno before Christmas to having another solid month since returning in January, capping this off with two absolute top draw strikes on Sunday against Flint.
Well Done Kayden, keep up the hard work. Matthew Roberts (U13s coach).
HARVEY POWNALL (Under-12s): Harvey has been outstanding this month. He has played in numerous positions during games and never moaned even if he is playing out of his favourite position. Harvey gets his head down and always gives 100% to help the team and his team mates.
Well done Harvey! Keep it up! David Algieri (Head Coach U12).
RILEY OWEN (Under-11s): Riley is a pleasure to coach, he’s always listening, always giving 100%, and loves being on the ball. Riley’s performance against Llandudno two weeks ago was something Special.
Well done Riley. Mike Walters (U11s Coach).
FINLEY ADAMSON (Under-10s): Finley has come back from his break flying. His attitude in training and games is always first class, he’s aways listening and giving 100% and willing to playing multiple positions.
Well done Finley. Mike Walters (U10s assistant coach).
CIAN PREWITT (Under-9): Cian is a left footer but worked tirelessly on his right foot and can now use both. He always works hard at any given task and is one of the boys who always leaves the training ground last. He’s a model young man. Always well behaved and always helps to clear away the training equipment. Very fast and versatile player. Marcel Grey (coach).
HARRI NASH (Under-8s): Harri has been superb this month, really growing in confidence especially when it comes to defending. He always plays with a smile on his face and is a great tam player. Well done Harri. Tom Clarke (U8 coach)
