WILL McKINLEY made a welcome return to action after injury to help Colwyn Bay go top of the FAW Reserve League North West with a 5-0 home victory over Porthmadog’s Development squad.
With rivals Llandudno losing at home to Llanuwchllyn, Colwyn Bay leapfrog their rivals and go two points clear at the top of the table – albeit having played a game more.
Will, who was regular in the first team prior to getting injured at Bangor in December, was given a valuable 90 minutes by manager Paul Roberts, while Guto Williams also got a full game under his belt and scored a goal in a big win for the young Seagulls.
They led 1-0 at half-time thanks to Luca Moran’s 25th minute goal and powered to victory in the second half with further goals from Guto Williams on 51 minutes, following a corner, Sam Parry (59 minutes), after good play down the left by Max McGoona, and substitutes Anthony Poole (79) and Nikola Georgiev (82).
COLWYN BAY: Will Roberts (Jack Hughes 65), Will McKinley, Guto Williams, Luca Moran (Nikola Georgiev 62), Max McGoona (Anthony Poole 65), Sam Parry, Ben Roberts, Efan Bowden-Williams, Robin Williams (c), Ben Woodmansee (Tom Vaughan 63), Tom Attewell,. Unused sub: Theo Groom.
