COLWYN BAY let a 2-0 half-time lead slip as they were held to a 2-2 draw away to Ammanford in the second round of Novora Cymru Premier fixtures.
The Seagulls brought home a point, but will be disappointed after dominating the first half and scoring through Adam Davies and Matty Hill in the space of four first half minutes/
Bay were on top from the start and had a number of promising opportunities before Adam Davies opened the scoring from a right wing cross by Louis Robles on 19 minutes.
Four minutes later Matty Hill added a second and although Bay were forced into a change with Ethan Roberts replacing Declan Poole, the Seagulls were full value for their 2-0 half-time lead.
Ammanford were a much a better side in the second period, however, with Colwyn Bay struggling to regain their first half control.
A home goal had been threatened and it came on 58 minutes when Bay were caught out by a long ball down the middle and Jonathan Evans ran clear to fire past Mark Hargreaves.
The Bay were hanging on precariously to a 2-1 lead until the 84th minute when Ammanford were awarded a penalty (confirmed after a lengthy VAR check) and Matthew Delaney equalised from the spot.
The Bay tried to respond in the closing minutes, but victory had already slipped from their grasp.
They remain in the top six on goal difference.
