COLWYN BAY extended their unbeaten home record to nine games with a 2-0 Friday night win over Cambrian United at the Blue Turtle Arena.

Josh Williams and Callum Bratley both scored their first goals for the club to give Bay the points which keeps them in the top five of the Novira Cymru Premier League.

The Seagulls had a goal from a corner disallowed for a foul before taking the lead on 16 minutes with a nice finish from inside the area by Josh Williams.

With Declan Poole posing a threat down the right, they had chances to increase that lead before half-time, but Aeron Edwards (twice) and Sam Hart all missed the target from good positions and Jack Kenny had a header well saved by Cambrian keeper Kelland Absalom, who was lucky to only get a yellow card for appearing to throw an elbow at Kenny.

Cambrian United started the second half quite strongly, forcing an early save from Mark Halstead, but the Bay made it 2-0 on 57 minutes when Call Bratley ran onto a through ball from Jack Kenny to fire past the keeper.

Cambrian wasted an indirect free kick inside the area, when Halstead picked up the ball from a back pass, but that apart the Bay defended well and in the closing minutes Absalom made a fine save from a Jordan Davies free kick and Adam Davies put a headed chance over the bar.
