STEVE Evans says his JD Cymru North manager of the season award recognises the hard work put in by so many throughout the club.

Steve  received the award at the end of his first full season in charge of the Seagulls in which the club won the JD Cymru North and the WBS League Northern Cup.

“The award is recognition of everybody’s hard work – the staff, players and everybody at the club, especially the fans,” Steve said

“The commitment and the hard work, that’s the icing on the cake.

Bay captain Tom McCready was named the Cymru North player of the season.

“He’s a leader and he’s been our leader,” Steve added.

“I believe he truly deserves the award because he’s been a consistent player for us and dragged us through a few games.

“I read that he didn’t play in three games and we didn’t win those three games and that speaks volumes.

“Macca is a fantastic player but an even better person and he’s the skipper for a reason and has led the team magnificently.

“He was my player of the year for Colwyn Bay and for him to get the league player of the year is a fantastic achievement.

“It’s an individual award but his team mates deserve massive credit because he’s led them and they’ve followed.”

The captain, Alex Downes, Lewis Sirrell and Sam Hart were included in the JD Cymru North team of the season.

“I know I’m being biased but I know there could have been a couple more in there as well considering the season some of them have had,” Evo said.

“But we had four in there, which is more than any other team, and it just shows the quality we had.

“We’ll be looking to add to that quality over the next few weeks.”
