BAY fell to their first defeat of the pre-season as Nantwich came from behind to win 2-1 at the 4 Crosses Construction Arena.
Matty Hill was prominent for the Bay early and he had a deflected low shot turned away for a corner.
Nick Rushton continued his fine pre-season goalscoring form, giving the Bay the lead with a penalty after a foul following a corner.
Nantwich equalised just after the hour mark through Steve Hewitt and secured victory with eight minutes remaining.
Manager Steve Evans said; “For 60/70 minutes I thought we were well worth the lead and we looked comfortable, looked in control and played some really good football.
“The majority of the second half they were the better team but all in all I thought it was a great day’s work and a real good test against a good team.
“I thought we’ve done alright and I thought the young lads that came on did really well.”
