COLWYN Bay moved up to fourth in the Novira Cymru Premier as two first half goals secured a 2-1 win at Trefelin BGC.
Jacob Jones’ own goal and Dan Roberts’ third of the season gave the Seagulls a 2-0 lead.
Lewys Ware’s late goal set up a nervy final few minutes but Bay held out for a third away league win of the campaign.
There was a delay to the kick-off at Ynys Park with an issue over a kit clash which forced the hosts to wear their change strip.
Adam Davies had the game’s first chance but his effort from distance was wide of the mark and soon after set-up Callum Bratley, whose effort went wide.
Bay started brightly and would take the lead on 22 minutes when Declan Poole’s first time cross from the right was not dealt properly by Jones, who put the ball in his own net.
The Seagulls doubled their lead six minutes before the break.
From Sam Hart’s corner both Nathan Peate and Bratley had attempts before Roberts swept the ball home from close range.
Captain Hart also had an opportunity a minute later as Bay ended an impressive first half display.
In the second half home keeper Scott Coughlin dived low to push away Josh Williams’ low effort from outside the box.
From the loose ball Adam Davies teed up Aeron Edwards at the far post, but his header went wide.
At the other end Louis Phillips had an effort gathered by Mark Halstead before Ware scored an excellent long range effort with a minute remaining.
Ware tried his luck in stoppage time but fortunately for the Bay it sailed past the post.
