COLWYN BAY produced a tremendous comeback from 0-2 down to beat high-flying Barry Town Utd 5-2 at the Blue Turtle Arena. making it three wins on the bounce. and move into the top six of the Cymru Premier.
Barry scored two goals in the space of six minutes to go ahead, but after Declan Poole pulled a goal back five minutes before half-time (his first for the Bay), the Seagulls dominated the second half with goals from Nathan Peate, Jordan Davies, Sol Forde and Matty Hill to give them a superb victory.
The Bay had three or four chances in the first half, but had shots blocked, saved or off target and Barry scored from virtually the only two chances they had.
Noah Daley headed the first from a right wing cross on 30 minutes and then Michael George broke clear from Jack Straw’s pass to double the lead six minutes later.
Declan Poole then got an important goal back five minutes before the break from Jordan Davies’ assist and Sam Hart was close to equalising with a header right on half-time.
The second half, however, saw Colwyn Bay completely turn the game around.
Nathan Peate headed the equaliser fom Sam Hart’s corner on 48 minutes and Jordan Davies scored for the third game running to edge Bay 3-2 ahead.
Shell-shocked Barry fell further behind to a goal by Sol Forde from another set piece aand Matty Hill put the icing on the comeback cake with a tap in fifth in added time, set up by great play by Ethan Roberts.
