COLWYN BAY will be looking to move out of the JD Cymru Premier’s bottom two when they host fellow promoted side Barry Town United at the 4 Crosses Construction Arena on Saturday (Kick-Off: 2.30pm).
Barry moved out of the bottom two and above the Bay in the table after a 2-0 home win over Pontypridd United on 17th October.
But the Jenner Park side were beaten 6-2 at home by champions and current league leaders The New Saints last Saturday and are a point above the Bay, who have two games in hand including TNS next Tuesday.
“They’re one place ahead of us so it’s a big game but we’ll treat it like any other,” Evo said.
“They will want to bounce back after defeat last week to TNS but before that they had a great result against Pontypridd.
“We’re really looking forward to the challenge.”
Bay’s game at home to Penybont last Saturday was postponed due to the weather meaning Stefan Edwards could finally make his 300th Cymru Premier appearance this weekend while club captain Tom McCready is poised to make his 150th Bay appearance.
Bay earned their first ever Cymru Premier point when the sides met at Jenner Park in August with Tommy Creamer scoring a screamer to cancel out Sam Snaith’s first half opener.
That was only the third ever meeting between the sides following last season’s WBS National League Cup final at Newtown’s Latham Park in which Barry won 6-0 against a youthful Bay side.
The only previous meeting at Llanelian Road was during the 1989/90 Allbright Bitter Welsh Cup, with Barry winning 1-0.
Saturday’s game is dedicated to Young lives vs Cancer.
Chairman Neil Coverley’s sister Katie is running the Conwy half marathon next month in memory of their younger brother Sam who passed away in 2015 from a brain tumour.
