COLWYN Bay are pleased to announce the signings of Nick Rushton and Lloyd Marsh-Hughes.

Nick joins from Newtown, where he made over 200 appearances and scored 70 goals..

The 31-year-old forward came through the ranks at Wrexham where he scored 11 goals in 29 appearances and had loan spells at Hednesford and Barrow.

After leaving Wrexham he joined Connah’s Quay Nomads in the summer of 2015 and spent a loan spell at Newtown before moving to Latham Park permanently in January 2017.

Nick was named in last season’s JD Cymru Premier team of the season.

Lloyd, is a graduate of Chester’s academy, and made his first team debut against Curzon Ashton in the National League North in January 2019 and signed a professional deal in April of that year.

The 22-year-old forward had loan spells at Marine and Runcorn Linnets and made 30 senior appearances for Chester before his departure in January 2023.

Lloyd, from Llandudno, joined Caernarfon Town initially on loan in September 2022 and in 26 games in all competitions last season scored six goals.

Steve Evans commented on the two new signings:

I’m really happy to add Nick and Lloyd to our squad and welcome them to the Bay.

Nick is a player I’ve admired for a long time.

He can play anywhere across the front line and in behind in the 8/10 position.

He has great experience and quality, which shows with him being named in JD Cymru Premier team of the season.

Lloyd is a young centre forward who we tried to bring in last year.

He’s a handful for any defender, he’s strong, can hold the ball, run in behind and score.

He’s still developing and we believe he’s at the right club to do that and perform on a consistent level every week.

Both bring quality, experience of playing in the JD Cymru premier and healthy competition to our squad.
Welcome to the Bay lads.
We’ll be looking to add a couple more signings in the coming weeks
