Good evening and welcome back to the Blue Turtle Arena for the opening game of the 2026/27 JD Cymru Premier season.
I’d like to extend a warm welcome to everyone connected with Trefelin BGC.
Congratulations on your promotion to the Cymru Premier. We hope you enjoy your visit to Colwyn Bay and wish you every success for the season ahead, starting after tonight’s final whistle!
The beginning of a new season is always a special occasion. It brings renewed optimism, fresh ambitions and the excitement of seeing months of hard work finally come to life on the pitch.
Everyone at Colwyn Bay FC has worked tirelessly over the summer to prepare for the challenges ahead, and we’re looking forward to what promises to be another memorable campaign.
This season also sees the introduction of Friday night league football across the Cymru Premier. It’s fair to say the change has generated plenty of discussion, with supporters from clubs across Wales voicing both their support and their concerns.
While the decision sits with the league, our focus as a club is simple: to make every Friday night at the Blue Turtle Arena an occasion to remember.
Under the lights, with a passionate home crowd behind the team, we have a fantastic opportunity to create an atmosphere that showcases everything that’s special about Colwyn Bay Football Club.
Another exciting change this season is the addition of three more North Wales clubs to the Cymru Premier. We’d like to congratulate Llandudno, Holywell Town and Airbus UK Broughton on their promotions.
Their arrival strengthens the league in the north and gives supporters even more local derbies to enjoy throughout the season. Local football creates local rivalries, bigger travelling support and fantastic occasions for everyone involved, and that’s something we should all look forward to.
To everyone who has renewed a season ticket, become a sponsor, volunteered their time or simply continued to back the club, thank you.
Your support is the heartbeat of Colwyn Bay FC, and together we continue to build something we’re all proud to be part of.
Finally, I’d like to wish Mike, his coaching staff and the players every success this evening. Please get behind the lads from the first whistle to the last. Your support can make all the difference.
