Match Report
GUTO WILLIAMS netted his first goal in a Bay shirt as the Seagulls won 4-1 at third-placed Buckley Town to extend their unbeaten record and go six points clear at the top of the JD Cymru North table.
They got a great start with a goal after nine minutes when Dylan Allshorn volleyed in at the far post from a great cross by Cai Owen, with Tom McCready, Tom Creamer and Matty Hill all missing chances in the opening quarter of the game to extend that lead.
Buckley threatened to make them pay for that when they equalised with an overhead kick by Iwan Jones on 24 minutes, and nearly scored again shortly afterwards during a spell of after some sloppy Bay defending.
Ryan Woods also made a good save at the near post to prevent Buckley taking the lead, but after Joe Williams saw a cross deflected onto the bar, the Bay scored twice in the last three minutes of the first half to lead 3-1 at the break.
Tom Creamer put them back in front with a great strike from just inside the area after another cross by Cai Owen had been headed back to him by Sam Hart, then in added time at the end of the half a McCready free kick was headed into the goalmouth By Lewis Sirrell for Guto Williams to head his first goal for the club.
In the second half Matty Hill shot just wide and had another effort saved by home keeper McHame, while Sam Hart and Lewis Sirrell both headed wide from Tom McCready corners.
Bay had a big shout for a penalty when substitute Alex Downes looked to be brought down in the area and it needed a good save from Ryan Woods to prevent Buckley making it 3-2 to get themselves back in the game.
The Seagulls, however, made sure of the points with a fourth goal in added time when Matty Hill’s driving run into the area ended with a shot into the bottom corner of the net.
