Match Report
COLWN BAY went out of the Welsh Cup with a 4-1 defeat away to The New Saints, despite taking a first half lead.
The full-timers made ten changes from the side that played Panathinaikos in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday, but showed what strength they have in depth with a clinical second half performance.
Bay started the game quite well and TNS keeper Connor Roberts just managed to keep out Sam Hart’s inswinging corner, before Craig Lindfield got on the end of Cai Owen’s free kick into the goalmouth to give Bay the lead on 26 minutes
The home side, however, were level seven minutes later when a cross from the right was headed back across goal for Declan McManus to bundled the ball into the net from close range.
Rhys Williams then did well to make a point blank range save the keep the sides level at half-time, but straight from the restart Bay were caught out as Andrian Cieslewicz’s pass played in Armida Oteh to score.
Cieslewicz then got a third for TNS on 61 minutes with an angled shot into the bottom corner and Oteh got his second of the game in the last 15 minutes to make it 4-1.
Roberts denied Bay a second goal when he got his finger-tips to an Ethan Roberts cross with Craig Lindfield waiting to score.
