BIG changes are coming to Llanelian Road this summer, starting with a brand-new name – Welcome to The Blue Turtle Arena.
The plans were revealed at our recent Have Your Say evening, where fans shared ideas and heard directly from the club about what’s ahead.
Club director Jody Johnson – who recently joined the board alongside his wife Carly through The Blue Turtle Group – laid out a bold vision for the future.
Their three-year partnership with the club officially begins in June, taking over from 4 Crosses Construction as ground sponsor.
Here’s what’s on the way:
• Club Lounge Upgrade: We’ll be insulating the current structure and transforming the space with an extended bar, new flooring and furniture, and a fully fitted kitchen to boost our catering game.
• New Clubhouse (Next Summer): A major new build will allow us to host more functions, events, and become a true hub for the community – open 7 days a week.
• Improved Matchday Experience: The pitch will be widened on the Llanelian Road side to meet UEFA regulations, with a new perimeter barrier installed and turnstiles relocated to support the layout.
“This is about making the club a more desirable place,” said Jody.
“We want everyone connected to Colwyn Bay FC – from the kids’ teams to the women’s team, the senior men, and walking football – to feel at home here.”
Plans are already in motion to make matchdays more vibrant with improved food, entertainment, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps fans around after the final whistle. It’s all about building a strong, local football community.
Looking ahead to our return to the JD Cymru Premier, there’s ambition on the pitch, too.
“It’s not just about surviving,” Jody added. “With this investment, we’re aiming to compete – a 6th or 7th place finish is within reach, and we want to enjoy some big nights here next season.”
This is just the beginning. The Bay is rising – and we’re building something special.
