COLWYN BAY Ladies were crowned champions of the North Wales Women’s Recreational Football League with a 3-0 away win at Mochdre Lionesses in their penultimate game.
Goals from captain Sophie Heap, Rachel Marland and Jaide Ang secured the three points they needed to take the title and, with one game to go, extended their unbeaten record to 15 games (13 wins and two draws).
Its a league double for the club, following the men’s success in taking the JD Cymru North title and is a big achievement for manager Glen Houston and his team in their first season together.
Glen commented: “I’m absolutely over the moon to be part of such not only a special team but also a very special club. This one is for everyone connected to the club, the fans, the staff and my players.
“Thank you to everyone for your incredible love & support.”
The Colwyn Bay squad against Mochdre was: Ashleigh Kite (G), Jaide Ang, Anna Jones, Katie Webbern, Jodie Jones, Jodie Parry, Sophie Heap (c), Ffion Morris, Rachel Marland. Hayley Gibson, Laura Roberts, Gemma Crutchlow-Porter.
