SEAGULLS manager Craig Hogg has given an injury update on  Gwion Owen and Sion Edwards with mixed news.

Craig reported today: “It is not good news on Gwion  at the moment.

“He picked up a knee injury right on half-time in the recent friendly against Porthmadog and has been in a lot of pain and discomfort since that game. Following further assessment this week by in house medical staff, he is now being referred for a scan which should give us a better picture of where he is at with the injury.

“Gwion has done so well since he joined us and it is a big blow not to have him in the squad for the cup game at Holywell on Saturday.

“It is better news on Sion Edwards who came through 30 minutes in the friendly against Llandudno Albion and scored a penalty.

“It was good to see him back on the pitch after his injury.

“He doesn’t appear to have had any reaction since that game, or from training this week, and that is a big positive for us.

“All being well we hope to declare him fully fit within the next week and available for selection for the league opener away to Gresford.”
