COLWYN BAY extended their unbeaten pre-season programme with an encouraging 3-1 away win at Cymru Premier opponents Caernarfon Town.

James Kirby gave them the lead after only two minutes and a mistake at the back by Caernarfon allowed Nathan Brown, who has previously been on loan at the Bay on a couple of occasions, to add a second 15 minutes later.

Ryan Williams pulled a goal back for the home side before half-time, but the Seagulls secured victory with a third goal from close range from Matty Hill midway through the second half.

Bay’s next pre-season game is at home to Connah’s Quay Nomads on Tuesday July 19 (7:30pm kick off).

Manager Steve Evans said:

“It was a step up from Tuesday night and the lads acquitted themselves really well and we had the perfect start – a great ball from Matty and a great finish from Kirbs.

Then I thought they were the better team and had more chances and possibly on another day could have been 2 or 3-1 up.

“But then we got to grips with the game and it was even and we were well worth the lead.

“We capitalised on one of their mistakes and we were well worth it.”
