SAM DOWNEY return to competitive action for the first time since recovering from a broken leg as he had a run out in the Under-19s 3-3 draw with Cefn Druids.

In their final home league game of the season in the Cymru Premier Development League North, the U19s were unlucky not to win. They led 2-0 at half-time thanks to two goals from Macsen Rhys-Williams and they added a third from skipper Aled Beardmore early in the second half.

The visitors, however, hit back with the help of an unfortunate own goal and got their equaliser in the sixth minute of added time.

Downey will now, no doubt, be hoping to game to get some game time in the first team’s final home game against Llanrhaeadr YM on Saturday (2:30pm kick off)
