TWO goals from Louis Robles helped the Seagulls to their first win of the season with a 4-1 away success at Cardiff Met on a day when skipper Sam Hart made his 100th appearance for the club.
The Bay led 1-0 at half-time with Louis scoring from a defensive mix-up, and although Cardiff equalised in the opening minute of the second half, goals from Jordan Davies, Louis Robles and Lewis Sirrell secured three valuable points.
In the first half, a good run and shot by Uniss Kargbo forced an early corner which Cardiff Met cleared, and Aaron Williams shot wide from a good chance set up by good play from Jordan Davies.
New Bay keeper Alex, Brown, making his debut. had a couple of early nervy moments but the l9-year-old made a couple of comfortable saves and grew in confidence after that.
Louis Robles headed wide from a Jordan Davies free kick, Davies had a shot from outside the area easily gathered by home keeper Kelland Absalom, who also caught a Nathan Peate header from a Davies free kick, before Bay broke the deadlock on 39 minutes.
A long ball from the back by Lewis Sirrell caused a mix-up in the home defence and Louis Robles gratefully slotted the ball into an unguarded net.
It could have been 2-0 before half-time, but Aaron Williams , from six yards, failed to put away a pass from Jamie Cumming .
The Bay were knocked back in the opening minute of the second half when Fumpa Mwandwe equalised with a great run and strike from the edge of the area, but the home side were level for only six minutes.
Jordan Davies restored Bay’s lead with a fine angled finish from Aaron Williams’ pass and on 73 minutes Louis Robles got his second the game when Sol Forde headed on another Jordan Davies free kick.
Cardiff Met pressed had and put a header just over the bar, but the Bay defended well and they added a fourth goal in added time at the end of the game when Lewis Sirrell headed his first goal of the season from Sam Hart’s corner.
The win lifted Bay up the seventh place and only kept out of the top six on goal difference by Flint Town United.
Mike Wilde commented afterwards: “We scored some really good goals, it was a good afternoon.
“I usually lose here! So to win is a nice feeling!”
